Mission

New Mexico singer/songwriter Glynn David, in cooperation with the PNM Foundation, is endeavoring to bring a much needed and timely message into the High Schools of New Mexico and ultimately the high schools and colleges throughout the United States. The message that Glynn will be imparting to the high school students and faculty is embodied in his lyric composition "When You've Learned How To Listen".

This community based program is being developed for the purpose of re-emphasizing the art and skill of listening as the most important prerequisite for learning. The intent is to encourage and remind us all to listen for content rather than come back, and to keep us aware of the fact that . . .

"When You've Learned How To Listen
. . . You've Learned Everything You'll Ever Need To Know!"

Profile

Glynn is a noted word-smith and honored singer, songwriter and guitarist, whose lyric compositions have made him a highly sought after performer and commentator. Through his lyrical composition and compelling vocals talents, his extensive international touring and his critically acclaimed CD release " Words Un-Spoken!" Glynn has developed a loyal following and is acknowledged as one of the world's leading Black-Folk artistists. Glynn was named "the International Listening Association's (ILA) 1999 Listener of the Year", for his work to promote listening through music in public schools and colleges throughout the United States ("The Words Unspoken Listening Initiative!"). He was also honored in 1997 to have been invited to perform for the 53rd Presidential Inauguration, where he appeared along with Hootie & the Blowfish and Gloria Estefan. The primary objective of the tour is the musical presentation of ideas which attempt to re-emphasize the art and skill of listening as the most important prerequisite for learning. High school students and faculty have been very receptive to the presentations to date, and we believe that taking a better financed program into New Mexico's high schools would help foster more comprehensive understanding in the classrooms.

Funding The Initiative

As a 501C non-profit corporation agency we offer our financial contributors the benefit of tax deductions for the moneys donated while we develop our own 501c corporation. We intend to build a bridge between our program and the goals of our corporate sponsors while supporting the constituent needs of each school's student body and faculty. Our annual budget has averaged out to roughly $75,500.00 (dollars) over the past four years, most of which is raised sponsorship.

We are inviting corporate and individual sponsors to participate in the following range of levels.

Level One Sponsorship :
For donation of $25,000.00 , the sponsor will be given the right to use Glynn's copyrighted original musical theme and lyric composition "When You've Learned How To Listen . . . Products/Services

This budget will enable us to bring the schools a well rounded assembly type program which would include motivational commentary, and an entertaining and thought provoking musical performance by Glynn David who will also distribute an informative printed handout that will provide reflective materials that offer ways to improve the effectiveness of our listening. Printed book covers and pre-recorded tapes will also be made available.
